Developing an Eco-sustainable game is intriguing. Last semester I had pitched a concept for a recycle game for social media and mobile devices. The name of the game is Recycle Hero.
Recycle Hero is an interactive real-world game which coordinates anything recyclable with the individuals doing the recycling and the destination accepting the recycle product. Any material recyclable constitutes metal, paper, plastic, etc. The game is played on Facebook. Downloading the app and joining the group make you a player. The player will collect recyclable’s, and then enter the type of recyclable to deliver, the app will generate locations within a “” mile radius of your location, with information and certifications for disposal. When the player delivers the material, they receive points and in turn add to their total for the duration of the game. Game play goals can be established per day, week or month. Playing on Social media will create a sense of competition amongst other players. Rewards are bragging rights, certifications to your wall, and information on how your efforts are helping the planet.
Hey Jay, great design idea. I think this has the potential to become a great game mostly because it would be beneficial to all and technically speaking there would be no "losers". Instead, it would encourage the players to be the best versions of themselves and incorporate the habit of recycling into their daily lives. So I like the fact that the players are essentially trying to out perform themselves. Also, would you consider incorporating this game onto other platforms such as Instagram or Snapchat? I think the game would be great on these platforms as well because it would really allow the players to show off their dedication, involvement and wins so to speak by sharing via photos and/o…
Great idea. I'm very fond of your plan about creating an interactive game about recycling match and game. You see, I post a blog with similar idea, too. I was thinking about designing an catching game in Adobe Animate CC. But it can be extremely difficult to build codes and variables in order to match equal numbers like mathematicians and physicians do. I believe that it can be an education game. However, I might create three levels; beginning level is slow pace, intermediate is moderate pace, and advanced is fast speed. Especially, I might design every objects, such as recycling materials and waste materials for game levels, overview, guidelines and directions. If recycling bin catches recycle materials will win 10…
I love this idea Jay!!! This is really cool because it's not only interactive in the sense of participating in a game but it actually interacts with and benefits the real world WHILE teaching these practices and ideals. I think the platform is a good choice and also feel that this game will be successful in sharing your message with the players but also their friends and family because of the way things are shared online and the way information is spread so widely nowadays.
